About Farfetch

Since its inaugural launch in 2008 farfetch.com provides an ecommerce platform for some of the world's leading independent boutiques, in three languages. The fast expanding network currently stands at over 70 partners in Europe, North America and Brazil, including L'Eclaireur, Penelope, Feathers, and American Rag. (source)

Position

I'm currently working as a Web Developer Junior as a part of two teams: Development and User Interface, taking care of farfetch.com and its partners' user interface.

Main responsabilities

HTML/CSS/Javascript/Ajax/jQuery developing: enhancing and optimizing the user's experience during the shopping process.

VB.NET developing.

About Plako

Plako is a company based in Póvoa de Lanhoso, Portugal, dedicated to the development of web based solutions.

Position

I was there as an intern, software analyst and web/software developer for 9 months.

Main responsabilities

HTML/CSS/Javascript (and jQuery) developing: turning a design/concept into a fully grown, functional and cross-browser compatible website. During the length of the internship, I was responsible for creating/maintaining 20+ websites.

PHP/XUL/Javascript developing: maintaining and developing new modules for the company's homegrown CMSes. Developed modules to support e-Commerce websites, social networking, blogs and other general purposes.

About NewsUI

NewsUI was a college project, intended to be a Content Management System for a fictitious company called NewsU. It was developed by me (Lino Silva), Sérgio Gomes, Pedro Carvalho and Tiago Dias.

The Process

The development process consisted in three distinct phases: Fundamentation, Specification and Development.
